    Achieve Academic Excellence
    Kīpuka is committed to helping students achieve academic excellence by providing the following services in a Hawaiian environment.

    Access to Computers
    Computers and other technology are available in the Kalākaua Technology Room. You can type papers, prepare presentations, do research, email friends and family, or just relax and surf the web.

    Academic Advising
    Do you need help finding the right courses to take? Do you know all that is required for General Ed, your major and other graduation requirements? Do you need help registering? Want to create a 4-year academic plan? Kīpuka has knowledgeable peer advisors available to help you with all of your academic planning needs. Just stop by the office to meet with one of the helpful staff.

    Tutoring
    Kīpuka tutors and writing editors are regularly available in the following subjects: Hawaiian Language, Math, Sciences, and Writing. If you need tutoring in a subject area other than those mentioned above, please let us know and we will try to accomodate you. Just stop by the Kīpuka office to meet with a tutor.

    Financial Aid
    Kīpuka can assist you through the financial aid application process. We are especially knowledgeable about scholarships for Native Hawaiians and our writing editors can help you create good essays, personal statements and resumes. Visit the Kīpuka office or this website for updates and deadlines.

    Advocacy
    Kīpuka ia an advocate for Native Hawaiians and Native Hawaiian issues on and off-campus. Please see us if you feel you need support in this area

    Career Counseling
    Kīpuka counselors can assist with internships with Native Hawaiian agencies, organizations, businesses and professionals in the community and in developing employment opportunities. Kīpuka also maintains a database of Hawaiian organizations that are willing to utilize volunteers so you may fulfill your commitment to do community service.

    Developing Leadership Potential
    Hawaiian Leadership Development Program (HLDP)
    This exciting program is for Native Hawaiian freshmen interested in developing their leadership potential whereby increasing the number of Hawaiian leaders in professional fields and in the community. HLDP participants build a strong support network by participating in leadership and cultural activities and community service projects designed to bring out the leadership potential of all HLDP students.
