Special Native Hawaiian postsecondary vocational education projects are funded at each community college where special counselors work to increase enrollment, retention, and successful completion of Native Hawaiian individuals toward increased employability and placement in related occupations.

The Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund The Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF) is a new national organization devoted solely to the financial scholarship needs of Asian and Pacific Islander American students. The scholarship fund's historic formation is credited to founding corporations, community-based organizations and civic leaders such as McDonald's Corporation, The Coca-Cola Company, Asian McDonald's Owner/Operators Association, Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies, Organization of Chinese Americans, Southeast Asia Resource Action Center, the University of Hawai'i, Native Hawaiian Community-Based Education Learning Centers, United Negro College Fund, Hispanic Scholarship Fund and former U.S. Congressman Robert Underwood.

Gates Millennium Scholarships
The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS), funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, was established in 1999 to provide outstanding African American, American Indian/Alaska Natives, Asian Pacific Islander Americans, and Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education, in all discipline areas and a graduate education for those students pursuing studies in mathematics, science, engineering, education, or library science.

The club offers scholarships annually to Hawaiian students enrolled in a two-year or four-year program as either a classified undergraduate or graduate student. Graduating high school seniors and undergraduates are required to have a 2.5 grade point average (GPA). Graduate students are required to have a 3.0 GPA.

Kamehameha Schools Scholarship Services Kamehameha Schools (KS) Post-High Scholarships provide supplemental funds for students pursuing undergraduate and graduate level education goals. If you have questions that are not answered call or visit us at the Financial Aid and Scholarship Services office or at any of the sites listed.

Hawai‘i Community Foundation This Scholarship program consists of more than 85 different funds established by private foundations, generous individuals, businesses and organizations.

Ke Ali‘i Pauahi Foundation Ke Ali‘i Pauahi Foundation's Financial Aid & Scholarship Services (FASS) administers both need- and merit-based resources for eligible Hawaiian students to pursue and obtain college degrees.

Liko A'e Liko A'e is a brand new Native Hawaiian Scholarship Program. The program is administered by Maui Community College, includes outreach sites at Hawaii and Kauai Community Colleges. Funding for the program comes from the Federal Government via the Native Hawaiian Education Act.

The Native Hawaiian Leadership Project (NHLP) is a program funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Native Hawaiian Higher Education Act. These funds will be used to implement various projects that will encourage and assist Native Hawaiians to attain undergraduate, graduate and doctorate degrees.

Revitalizing Native Language Research Scholarship This scholarship is offered to a Graduate student-researcher must be American Indian, Alaska Native or Native Hawaiian. The Student must be engaged in the documentation or study of a language revitalization effort in an indigenous community or in a school serving indigenous students. They must be enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university master’s or doctorate program that incorporates studying the revitalization of an indigenous language. Most importantly, the student must demonstrate and/or encourage peer student and indigenous community involvement in revitalizing indigenous languages.

The Kamehameha Schools Alumni Association, East Hawai'i Region, Mamalahoe Chapter
The purpose of the scholarship is to assist and encourage native Hawaiians to further their education at an accredited institution in East Hawai'i, namely the University of Hawai'i at Hilo and/or Hawai'i Community College. Preference will be given to the following applicants:
1. A graduate of Kamehameha Schools of Hawaiian ancestry.
2. A non-graduate of Kamehameha Schools of Hawaiian ancestry.
3. A non-graduate of Kamehameha Schools of non-Hawaiian ancestry.
The scholarship application is attached or can be obtained in the Kipuka Native Hawaiian Student Center Kalakaua Technology Center (PB 10-1).

Housing
The residence halls for students attending the University of Hawaii at Hilo are a special part of the University community. Residence halls house students from all the islands of Hawaii along with students from the mainland and foreign countries. The UH Hilo Housing Program is dedicated to providing you with an atmosphere that will give you a sense of belonging to the campus and help you quickly become a part of campus life.


Ka Haka 'Ula O Ke'elikolani College of Hawaiian Language at UHH. Ka Haka 'Ula o Ke'elikolani emphasizes language acquisition, linguistics, traditional culture and education in a Hawaiian medium environment. The Hawaiian Studies Division currently oversees programs incuding a B.A. in Hawaiian Studies, the Kahuawaiola Hawaiian Medium Teaching Certification, the Master of Arts in Hawaiian Language and Literature, Curriculum Development, Media and Telecommunications Services. Ka Haka 'Ula o Ke'elikolani is also developing a curriculum for web based Hawaiian language education.
